About this report

This report covers the operations of Carillion plc during 2010. It includes the topics we have identified as most material to our business, which you can see in our sun diagram.

Unless stated otherwise, figures in this report relate to the calendar year 2010 and cover our worldwide operations, except where our overseas businesses are expressly excluded. We have included some activities undertaken in our Joint Ventures, depending on our level of influence on operations and the size of our shareholding in the Joint Venture. In cases where Carillion employees are seconded to a Joint Venture, we include our seconded employees in the data, but exclude the Joint Venture’s operations.

We produce our sustainability report annually, and our 2009 and previous reports are available on www.carillionplc.com/sustainability/reports/reports.asp.

In reporting our performance, we continue to be guided by the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) G3 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines. We consider this report to be aligned with GRI level B+. See our GRI index.
